Business Unit Leader PNH/aHUS/ Nordics & Baltics region

Alexion is a biopharmaceutical company focused on serving patients with severe and rare disorders through the innovation, development and commercialization of life-transforming therapeutic products. Alexion is the global leader in complement inhibition and has developed and markets a treatment for patients with PNH and aHUS, two debilitating, ultra-rare and life-threatening disorders caused by chronic uncontrolled complement activation. Alexion is evaluating other potential indications for its marketed drug and is developing additional highly innovative biotechnology product candidates across multiple therapeutic areas.

Alexion Pharma Nordics is responsible for managing and growing current and future products emanating from the Alexion pipeline of new and innovative products for the treatment of rare and life threatening diseases. In your role as Business Unit Leader Nephrology/Hematology you will be accountable for achieving revenue as well as patient acquisition goals. You will accomplish goals and objectives by leading sales and marketing directing all aspects of commercial activities, building and developing effective teams and ensuring cross function alignment in the Nordic and Baltic region. This position is also responsible for participating in the global and regional strategic planning process in collaboration with the relevant Therapeutic Area Heads (TA) and the Nordics/Baltics General Manager (GM).

You will report to the General Manager and be part of the regional management team.

Qualifications

• Substantial business management experience in the pharmaceutical or biopharmaceutical industry
• Experience in leading multiple teams in cross-functional environments
• Demonstrated experience with full P&L responsibility
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
• Orphan drugs or secondary care market experience desired
• Relevant therapeutic area experience in hematology/nephrology desired
• Minimum Bachelors degree in business or scientific field
