Manager, International Assignment

Our client is a global company that sees international mobility as an important step to ensure the organisation’s continued development and success as well as stay on top of the list of the most popular employers. As a small team within the global HR function, the international assignments group strives for efficiency and excellence within its specialised area, on a truly global level.

The challenge

With a long tradition of expatriates and a steep growth in employees in the coming years, our client is looking for development and new ideas concerning expatriates and mobility. To be able to spend time in another market is considered to be a development for the overall organisation, for the local market/function as well as for the individual employee. The information concerning the exchange as well as the terms for every expatriate differ, but is on an overall level guided by a framework and general guidelines. The client is looking at updating and clarifying this framework in order to meet the increased mobility facing the company’s growth. In order to gain internal consent, this framework needs to be formulated in close cooperation with different managers and other internal stakeholders, as well as taking into account the learnings and experiences gathered throughout the years.

Within a company that puts a lot of responsibility on each employee, the international assignments group does not aim to become a full-service function. Therefore, it is important to define the group’s responsibilities and remain focused on the contractual aspects of international mobility, alongside an overall view of the company’s expatriate policy and the expatriates’ individual needs.

Your background

Today, you have worked with expatriate contracts and policies for at least 5 years. You are used to working in an international setting and have very good language skills – proficiency in languages besides Swedish and English are meriting. You have an educational and professional background within HR, finance or another related area. If you have previously led a small team, directly or indirectly, this is considered an extra merit, but above all you seek the opportunity to develop your leadership ambitions.
