Amniotics mission is to contribute towards life changing regenerative treatment of severe diseases with inflammatory and fibrotic origin. The company was born out of the discovery of a novel source of stem cells in full-term amniotic fluid. Based on a decade of research at the internationally recognized Lund University Stem Cell Center and Hospital, the company is pioneering the harvesting and propagation of tissue relevant neonatal quality mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs). Researchers and founders of the company discovered a new type of stem cells in amniotic fluid that has unique properties for applications in regenerative medicine. The company has a new GMP approved production facility operational since early 2020 and ongoing preclinical research in several therapeutic areas.
Amniotics is rapidly evolving with its most advanced product being PulmoStemTM for respiratory indications. The new Medical Director will setup and lead a clinical and regulatory team of consultants while in parallel working to secure structure and processes to reach timely and conclusive endpoints in the clinical programs.
In this role you will drive and monitor the clinical and regulatory program in line with corporate strategy. As the leader of the team, you will be the person who instils inspiration as well as know-how and experience in clinical development. Your main responsibilities will be to plan, initiate and monitor clinical studies and regulatory processes, analyse results and together with your team draw relevant conclusions. As the leader of the team, you will also be responsible for summarizing and presenting data to the management and board of the company. An additional part of the role will be to participate in external conferences and symposia to stay on top of the latest global research trends within your areas of pharmaceutical development. You report directly to the CEO and become part of the Management Team.
Location at company headquarters in Lund makes the Öresund region an ideal location.
You have a minimum of 3-4 years´ experience as Medical Director or Senior Clinical Manager/Leader within biopharmaceutical drug development, ideally comprising cell-based therapy (ATMP). You can either have gained your experience in an industrial or academic setting. It will be a plus if you have an educational background as Medical Doctor.
