Head of Security - Kvinna Till Kvinna

The Kvinna till Kvinna foundation is a non-profit organisation that promotes womens’s rights in conflict-affected contexts with the aim to advance womens’s rights and promote sustainable peace. We do so by working together with over 110 local womens’s rights organisations.

Kvinna till Kvinna is organised around three departments – Program, Communication, and Resources. Our 130 co-workers are equally divided between the Headquarter in Stockholm and 14 country offices in five different regions (Western Balkans & Ukraine, South Caucasus, Middle East and North Africa, West and Central Africa).

About the role

As Head of Security, you will be responsible for developing, supporting and following up Kvinna till Kvinna’s work with safety and security, including policies, methods, guidelines and tools. A significant part of your role will be to support our managers in implementing our newly-developed Safety & Security plans and systems for security travel management, site security, crisis response and incident management. You will also provide support on risk management according to the ISO 31000 principles. You willl be a source of support and knowledge for our managers in their work to prevent and deal with threatening situations or crises that can occur in conflict areas. Future developments you will be responsible for include improving the cooperation between security focal points at our country offices as well as data security.

Essential qualifications and work experience

• Minimum five years of relevant work experience, of which minimum two years in conflict-affected areas.
• Completed professional training in the field of security, such as security management, HEAT (Hostile Environment Awareness Training) or equivalent.
• Relevant higher-education degree, preferably in the field of peace and conflict studies, international relations or development studies, or equivalent knowledge acquired elsewhere.
• Experience of working with and/or in civil society.
• Experience of working independently.
• Excellent English-language skills, both speaking and writing.

Experience of the following is desirable:

• Change management, conducting trainings, quality control and/or results management with budget responsibility.
• Working with at multicultural staff body.
• Digital security.
• Working in Swedish.

Personality

We are looking for someone with a calm and reassuring personality, who can unite a team and take decisions even in stressful crisis situations. We expect you to know how to lead, support and follow up on change porcessen in an international organisation in an analytical, well-structured and pedagogic way.

Terms and Conditions

This is a full-time, permanent position. Start date as soon as possible. You will be the sole member of the security unit, which is part of the Resource department. You will report to the Deputy Secretary General. The position is located at our head office in Stockholm, but will require you to travel several times a year, mainly to the countries we work in.
