VP Sales and Marketing

Take7 is a music play-along app for aspiring musicians. Take7 gives you feedback on every song you perform, and provides guided exercises to help you improve. We use a pedagogical approach, reinforced with gaming systems to make learning fast and fun. All music you hear in Take7 is professionally produced, and is played by a virtual orchestra that you control. Take7 is available on Mac, Windows PC and iPad.

Using a freemium business model, it is easy for customers to get started.  We provide the app and trial songs for free, and initial revenue comes from selling songs.

The VP Sales and Marketing at Take7 will be responsible for all sales and marketing related activities, building the global Take7 brand. Take7 has a huge untapped market and your key challenge will be to quickly harvest this market, dramatically growing the number of active users and sales.

The Take7 Vision is: Anybody who wants to learn how to play an instrument, can. Ultimately covering all musicians and singers regardless of instrument, style and experience level. Our near-term target customers are woodwind, string and brass instrument players, either being music students, practicing at home or band amateur who are trying to perfect a song for a performance.

Many of these individuals find learning frustrating and slow, and give up before realizing their full potential.  Take7 solves these problems by providing a cost effective and easy to use app, which serves as a virtual band, teacher and gaming system. It provides added motivation through visualized progress and connecting established and aspiring musicians.

The VP Sales and Marketing will be working with identifying new target groups and conceptualize and package the brand. This will include establishing strategies for how to work with marketing, as well as lead the implementation of those strategies. You will negotiate agreements with suppliers, agents and sale channel representatives

Your task is to create profitable business development through understanding/identifying business opportunities across the markets within the business plan through available consumer insights. Use experience and market knowledge to understand which opportunities are worth pursuing in each specific market. Working closely with the team to ensure a consistent approach yet tailored strategy for each market.

You will take the overall lead for the development and operation of the marketing and sales organization, recruiting external and internal marketing and sales resources.

• Experience in digital marketing and/or very strong experience from direct or channel sales.
• Music knowledge and interest – a good understanding of the market and the scope of the product. Being able to relate to musicians and talk music. Being an amateur musician and a (future) user of our App
• Relevant post-secondary education
• The job requires you to speak and write English fluently and preferably also German

Desirable qualifications

• Experience from launching a start-up preferably within the tech industry
